Domain Name Registration FAQ

How can you afford to register domain name for less that Network Solutions?

We are authorized by OpenSRS (Open Shared Registration System) to sell domain name registrations under thier ICANN agreement.

"OpenSRS is founded on the principle that access to the community domain name registry should be open to as many people as possible. It is a public resource and should be managed in the same manner that a park is - open and accessible to all. It is the mandate of OpenSRS to uphold this principle."

How long can my domain name be?

A domain name can be up to 26 characters long. This includes the extension (.com, .net, and .org). You can use letters, numbers and hyphens ("-")in the domain name.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What if the domain name I want is already taken?

It means that someone on the Internet has already secured that name for their own website. Instead, create a new name or try a variation of the name (i.e. www.yourcompany.com, www.your-company.com, www.yourcompany.net)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who owns the domain name once it is registered?

No one "owns" a domain name registration. But it is the registrant to whom the domain name is registered, and who has permission to use the domain name registration. The registrant is the person or organization listed at the top of the domain name record.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who is the registrant?

The person or company ultimately responsible for a domain name. When you reserve your Domain as an individual, you personally will be considered the Registrant.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who do I list as the contact on the registration?

Contacts are individuals who represent the registrant on matters related to the domain registration. The contact is authorized to make changes to the registration data with the login and password that is chosen when signing up for an account.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How much does a new Domain Name registration cost?

The fee for domain names is US $20.00 a year through AztecOne.

The registration fee covers the initial registration activities and most updates to the domain name record during the registration period. These updates include: updating the registrant's address, replacing the existing contacts with new contacts, updating information about existing contacts and changing name servers.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will I be given a chance to re-new my domain name registration?

Yes. Near the end of the initial registration period, and every year thereafter, we will send you an invoice through email. For this reason it is important for you to update your contact information if it changes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I pay for my domain name registration?

When you submit your domain registration online, there will be a field for you to include your payment information. We will accept VISA, Mastercard, and American Express. If this is not possible, print the order form and mail along with a Certified bank check or money order. This fee is non-refundable
